The Throat of the Tiger Shark
Collected by Harry and Honor Maude from the people of Kiribati (KEER-eh-bass), a Pacific nation formerly known as the Gilbert Islands. The tiger shark (Galeocerdo cuvier) is common in the central Pacific and is known to attack humans. When young, tiger sharks have dark stripes on their bodies.
