Collected by Father Raymund from the people of Palau. Reconstructed by Mark Sherman. The crooked vertical loop at the center of the design represents Arsei, a legendary Palauan dancer.

Step 7 - Gently release the double R2 loop and the double L345 loop but do not extend.
Holding the figure loosely, insert L345 into the double L2 loop from the same direction as L2; similarly, insert R2 into the double R345 loop from the same direction as R345. Loosely clutching 2345 to the palm, extend to absorb most (but not all) of the slack, then straighten 2 to fully extend the figure. During the design's transformation, the men have cleared the stage and the legendary dancer Arsei has taken center stage. Seen in profile, his legs are flexed and his body is bent at the waist. |
