Zubenelgenubi
A contemporary string figure created in 1998 by Homer Sapiens of California. Derived from Arabic, Zubenelgenubi is the traditional name of alpha Librae, a double star in the constellation Libra.

Step 11 - On each hand transfer the 5 loop to 1, inserting 1 from above.
Newkirk Extension: 5, under intermediate strings, hooks down lower 1n; 2, over intermediate strings, picks up upper 1n; press 1 against the side of 2 and rotate wrists so that palms face away. Extend and arrange as needed to reveal two double-walled diamonds or "stars". Together they represent Zubenelgenubi. |
