Crisscross Diamonds

A contemporary string figure series created by Steve Newkirk of Ojai, California. The series begins with a single diamond. Additional diamonds are added one-by-one. The number of diamonds that can be added is limited only by the length of the string loop.

 Step 5 - 1, from above, removes the 5 loop.

Newkirk Extension: 5, under intermediate strings, hooks down lower 1n; 2, over intermediate strings, picks up upper 1n; press 1 against the side of 2 and rotate wrists so that palms face away.

You have 'Two Diamonds'.

To continue, undo the Newkirk Extension (release 2 loop and 5 loop while maintaining tension) and return the upper 1 loop to 5, inserting 5 from above.
