Fish Mouth

Collected by David Nicolai from his Yup'ik Eskimo grandmother, who lives in a small village near Bethel in southwest Alaska. "Fish Mouth" is preceded by a design that represents the two eyes of a fish.

Step 7 - To "return the fish to water" pass L1, from the near side, through the mouth, then up and over 2n (a transverse string); catch 2n on the back of L1 and return through the mouth, thus widening it.

To "remove the fish hook" release the R2 loop without extending, then pass R1 and R2 into the mouth and grasp the short center segment of 5f.

Release 5 loop and L2 loop and extend. The "fish swims away, leaving behind a tranquil lake surface".
