Step 3 - With R45 grasp the right string of the large hanging loop, entering the loop from the far side.

With R23, behind the large hanging loop, grasp the left string of the small hanging loop, entering the loop from the near side, then grasp the right string of the large hanging loop, entering the loop from the far side.

At this point R45 clutches one string while R23 clutches two strings.
