A Doca
Collected by Odina Sturzenegger from Los Tobas Indians of El Colchón, Chaco, Argentina. The design represents the unripe fruit of the milkweed vine (Morrenia odorata), which the Indians eat either raw or cooked. The green oval fruit is bisected on one side by a deep crevice, which is represented in the string figure by six parallel lines.

Step 7 - L2, from above, enters the R2 loop then the R1 loop while L3, from above, enters the R3 loop then the R5 loop.
L2 picks up L1f and returns through the R2 loop while L3 picks up R5n and returns through the R3 loop. R hand releases all loops; R1, from above, removes the L2 loop while R5, from above, removes the L3 loop. Extend to reveal "A Doca". Use a longer string loop if you want the fruit to be more oval in shape. |
