Collected by Guy Mary-Rousselière from the Inuit (Eskimo) people of Pelly Bay, Nunavut, Canada. The native name for this figure is aksatquligaciaq ("He who has upper arms").

Step 7 - Extend, keeping L1 centered above the figure.

Once the flexed "arms" have formed, gently release the L1 loops to form a "head" above the figure, which should remain upright if a stiff string was used.

You have "He who has (muscular) upper arms". Within the design are strings that represent an Inuit man's torso, his legs, his flexed arms, and his head.
