Two More UFOs

A contemporary string figure created in 1981 by Yukio Shishido of Kyoto, Japan. It resembles a string figure we featured in May ("Two UFOs") but the football-shaped cages that represent flying saucers are separated rather than fused. One transformation (Step 7) and two alternative endings (Steps 8a and 8b) are offered.

Step 7 - (Transformation): 1 hooks down the oblique string that crosses the 1 loop, releasing the 1 loop in the process, then 1 rotates toward you and up to create a new 1 loop.

Release 2 loop and extend with fingers pointing away from you. You have "Two UFOs merge into a Big Flying Saucer".
