The Moon
Collected by Harry and Honor Maude from the people of Vaitupu, Tuvalu. Many traditional repertoires include double-walled diamond figures, but their methods often differ. Frequently the design represents a familiar celestial object: either the sun, the moon, or a bright star.

Step 3 - 1, from below, passes up through the lower 2 loop, then to the far side of the upper 2 loop.
1 presses against 2 to trap upper 2f, then 2 rotates a full turn away from you, allowing all strings on 2 to slip off except the trapped string. 1 returns to its original position, leaving a single loop on 2. |
