Earrings
Collected by George Byron Gordon from the Yup'ik people of Mamtrelich, a small village near the mouth of the Kuskokwim River in southwest Alaska. Eskimo (Inuit) women traditionally wore dangling earrings that were made of carved bone or ivory.

Step 3 - 2 and 3 move toward the center with their trapped string; L3, from the far side and from below, removes the R3 loop; R3, from the far side and from below, removes the lower L3 loop; extend gently to complete the loop exchange, keeping 3 in a hooked position.
Press 2 against the side of 3 to trap the 3n string; release the loop surrounding 2 and 3, then rotate 2 and 3 away from you and up so that the trapped string becomes a loop on 2. |
