A Fish on Wood
Collected by Will Wirt from the Wai Wai people of Guyana. For centuries people have been cooking fish on a water-saturated wooden plank held over a fire. The wooden plank imparts a delicate smoked flavor to the fish, and prevents the fish from falling apart since no flipping is required during the slow cooking process.

Step 2 - R345 grasps the L near wrist string (R1 and R2 maintain their grip on the L far wrist string).
R hand draws the two L wrist strings up along the back side of the L hand, then brings them forward between L2 and L3. With palm facing away R hand slides down along the two strings it is holding until R2 reaches the end of the hanging loop, then hooked R2 carries the end of the hanging loop up toward the L palm. |
