A Fish on Wood
Collected by Will Wirt from the Wai Wai people of Guyana. For centuries people have been cooking fish on a water-saturated wooden plank held over a fire. The wooden plank imparts a delicate smoked flavor to the fish, and prevents the fish from falling apart since no flipping is required during the slow cooking process.

Step 5 - Rotate L hand so that palm faces away.
With R1 and R2, grasp the string that runs from the near side of the L wrist to the gap between L2 and L3; lift it over L1 and L2, and release it on the palmar side of the L hand. Likewise with R1 and R2, grasp the string that runs from the far side of the L wrist to the gap between L2 and L3; lift it over L3, L4 and L5, and release it on the palmar side of the L hand. Extend, returning hands to normal position. |
